The Winged Horse is a public house in Luncies Road in the Barstable East area of Basildon.

It was built on behalf of Basildon Development Corporation and opened in 1958 to serve the then new Barstable 1A/1B/1C - 2A/2B/2C housing estates constructed either side of Luncies Road. This was in keeping with the Corporation's 'Master Plan' to supplement each new significant housing development with neighbourhood shops, a community centre and a public house.

The public house, which included upstairs living accommodation for the publican, was originally operated by brewers Taylor Walker who were then acquired by Ind Coope in 1959. A feature of its architecture is its copper roof.
