Great site, really informative. Haven't lived here long but want to catch up on the history
of the area, in particular what used to be where felmores estate was built.

Hi, i was reading your post about growing up in Bowers Gifford. I lived next door but
1 to Elsie Norman in Alpha Close,In the 80's, She had a great big German Shepard dog. I remember Playing with her grandson, he had a shot
on my Brand New Rayleigh Boxer. Do you remember Mrs Gowler? she teached at st margrets, lived in ERIC road, used to let all the kids in
her house, to see her Parrot. |

My name is Bernard & I'm looking for a Lisa Hindley. I went to school with her at
Preston East High School Melbourne Australia in 1975, when Lisa then moved back to Essex with her family. She was a wonderful girlfriend & I
was so sad to see her leave. Her last known address was: Middle Crockerford Vange Basildon Essex in the mid/late 1970's. Could anyone

We visited Basildon on many occasions when my sister Avis and her husband Wilf
and their family were living nearby. This was in the mid to late 1960's when it was still being constructed. They lived in an old bungalow with a
large front and back garden. It wasn't all that far from the town on an unmade road. I remember the town centre was very vibrant and we would all
sit near the water fountain after doing the shopping. I remember you could park anywhere for free in those days. Not like today. They later
moved out of Essex and I haven't been back since. |

A real trip down memory lane. I moved to Basildon (from North London) in 1956
(aged 6) and lived in Clayburn Circle, Barstable and then Collingwood Terrace, Vange until 1968. Returning occasionally during university
holidays and once I started work. |
