Great to find this site, and to see a message from Peter Knight dated 2003. I too grew up in Basildon and was a member of the Basildon Drum And Trumpet Corps.
What great times in that band. Anyone remember our reunion in 1992? All old boys by then, but still made a big impact at Wembley and The Royal Albert Hall.
I have some old video and cine films of those days that I will try and upload. Love to hear from anyone from those days. |

My mum and her siblings surname Cooke lived in pitsea laindon and vange during the 50s/early 60's attended high road school teachers were name miss jollyman, Mr furclough and Mr pool.siblings were called Joyce,Cathy,Margie.please email me at carol.halford2@live.co.UK if you remember us at all |

Lived in Long Lynderswood Basildon from 1962 until 1975 (although away at uni for a lot of that time)
Went to Barstable and then Thurrock College and worked in summers at Yardley and Spong and also at Carreras. |
